Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various departments to support production needs and address quality, delivery, or pricing issues.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions of purchasing agreements.
- Create, send, review, and reconcile Purchase Orders and invoices.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to the expediting of parts for quality or delivery concerns.
- Analyze material consumption and forecasts to provide insights on inventory and Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) levels.
- Generate and report purchasing metrics.
- Assist in the research, development, qualification, and performance evaluation of suppliers and supply chain partners.
- Communicate with suppliers to manage the supply chain effectively within their capacities and lead times.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Business or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of direct experience in manufacturing purchasing required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- If no degree, a minimum of 5 years of direct experience in a manufacturing purchasing role is necessary.
- Certification in APICS, Purchasing, or Supply Chain is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office and ERP/MRP software systems.
- Strong skills in finance and mathematics, along with familiarity in Bills-of-Material and basic engineering drawing interpretation.
- Knowledge of steel and alloy materials is essential.
- Experience in contract review and financial negotiations.
- Expertise in supplier evaluation and qualification.
