**Join Our Team:**

Housing Assistance Council (HAC) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving housing conditions for the rural poor. We are seeking an External Affairs Specialist to join our team in Washington D.C.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Create and execute a communications strategy that amplifies HAC's brand as a leading national organization.
  2. Develop content for external audiences, including presentations, speeches, and talking points.
  3. Work with leadership and staff to identify and create content that supports policy priorities and programs.
  4. Monitor and coordinate visibility opportunities for HAC leadership and staff.
  5. Bolster internal and external communications plans.
  6. Support fundraising and advocacy activities.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Associates degree, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional communications experience or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of communications principles, fundraising, and/or policy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of graphic design software.
  • Unwavering attention to detail and ownership of work.

Compensation and Benefits:

HAC offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, life insurance, retirement plan, time off, and education assistance. Estimated salary range: $64,000 - $84,000 per year.
