Key Responsibilities:

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to significantly impact the lives of Oregon's most vulnerable children and families. Your commitment will help us achieve the Child Welfare goals aimed at ensuring children and young adults are safer, healthier, and experience less trauma.

As a Child Welfare Case Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing the duties of a Child Protective Services (CPS) Worker and Permanency Worker.
  • Conducting assessments of child safety in cases of alleged abuse or neglect to evaluate potential risks.
  • Engaging with children, families, resource parents, and caregivers to promote safety, permanency, and well-being.
  • Identifying and pursuing relative caregivers, foster parents, and adoptive parents.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field, or;
  • A bachelor's degree in an unrelated field along with:
    • One year of experience in Human Services, or;
    • Completion of coursework equivalent to certification consistent with Oregon Caseworker Competency, or;
  • An associate degree with:
    • Two years of experience in Human Services, or;
    • One year of experience in Human Services along with relevant training or certification consistent with Oregon Caseworker Competency.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient writing skills, with attention to clarity and minimal errors.
  • Experience engaging with diverse populations through a culturally competent approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Work Environment:

  • Work will take place in various settings, including offices, clients' homes, and community locations.

  • Interactions may occur with individuals who have experienced trauma and may display emotional challenges.
  • Situations may arise that require quick decision-making to ensure the safety of clients and personal safety.
