Early Childhood Educator

Hopedale Medical Complex is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a key member of our childcare center, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children to grow and develop.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Design and implement engaging programs that cater to the emotional, physical, intellectual, and social needs of each child and classroom.
- Supervision and Evaluation: Supervise programs on an ongoing basis, observing and evaluating their effectiveness, and providing guidance and support to classroom teachers as needed.
- Lesson Planning: Prepare and implement weekly lesson plans based on a curriculum outline, incorporating interactive activities that promote children's involvement and engagement.
- Environment and Safety: Maintain a warm and safe environment that is orderly, clean, and appealing, promoting growth and development in children.
- Communication and Record-Keeping: Communicate effectively with parents, maintaining accurate records and files, and reporting significant individual or group behaviors to supervisors.
- Discipline and Conflict Resolution: Utilize positive and appropriate discipline methods, addressing conflicts and concerns in a constructive and respectful manner.
- Enrollment and Administration: Recruit children, process applications, confirm residency requirements and income levels of families, determine tuition, place children in appropriate classrooms, and maintain enrollment numbers.
- Parent Communication: Inform parents of childcare center policies, maintain records of children's starting dates, termination dates, and vacations, and communicate with parents regarding complaints or concerns.
- Supply Management and Coordination: Coordinate purchases and inventory of supplies and equipment, working with dietary staff to ensure the food provided meets all nutritional needs of children.
- Community Engagement: Maintain communication with community agencies, attending monthly staff meetings to stay informed and contribute to the team's efforts.
- Education: Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education, or the equivalent.
- Experience: 1560 clock hours of experience in a recreational program or licensed day care center serving school-age children, or a license-exempt school-age childcare program operated by a public or private school.
- Skills and Qualities: Knowledge of a child's physical, emotional, and developmental patterns, sensitivity to individual and group needs, a joyful approach to teaching, emotional maturity and stability, ability to utilize good judgment, and effective communication skills.
