Job Summary

Luminis Health is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team in the Float Pool department. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing radiographic and computerized axial tomography procedures on patients of all ages, adhering to established professional and departmental standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine radiographic procedures and special computerized tomography procedures, ensuring high-quality images and patient safety.
  • Conduct daily quality assurance testing on CT units and emergency equipment, maintaining accurate records and reporting any issues to the supervisor.
  • Collaborate with the supervisor to address problems related to equipment, staffing, and productivity, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Obtain relevant clinical data prior to diagnostic examinations, supervise patient preparation, and record significant data, prioritizing patients effectively.
  • Ensure efficient patient flow through the scanner area, scheduling patients and assigning responsibilities as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain supplies in the CT area, reporting shortages to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a daily activities log and procedures manual, compiling data and submitting monthly reports as required.
  • Participate in orientation, on-the-job training, and in-service activities, demonstrating CT equipment and procedures as needed.
  • Assist physicians in performing interventional CT procedures and respond to emergency situations and adverse contrast reactions.
  • Contribute to the orientation of new personnel and development of in-services and cross-training programs, aligning with performance objectives and training needs.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a two-year radiological technology program from an AMA-approved educational institution.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a radiologic technologist, with either one year of CT experience or successful completion of an in-house CT cross-training program.
  • Current State of Maryland licensure and American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS CPR certification.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Employees in this position may be exposed to blood-borne pathogens. The physical demands of this role include heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
