Job Summary:

Luminis Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CT Technologist to join our team. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing radiographic and computerized axial tomography procedures on patients of all ages, ensuring high-quality images and excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine radiographic procedures and special computerized tomography procedures consistent with established quality standards and patient needs.
  • Conduct daily quality assurance testing on CT unit and emergency equipment, maintaining accurate records as required.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to report equipment, staffing, and productivity issues, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Obtain relevant clinical data prior to diagnostic examinations, supervise patient preparation, and record significant data.
  • Prioritize patients in workflow, providing care for physically and mentally compromised patients.
  • Ensure efficient patient flow through the scanner area through effective scheduling and assignment of responsibility.
  • Monitor and report supply shortages, maintaining a clean and organized CT area.
  • Maintain a daily activities log and procedures manual, compiling data and issuing monthly reports as required.
  • Participate in orientation, on-the-job training, and in-service activities, demonstrating CT equipment and procedures as needed.
  • Assist physicians in performing interventional CT procedures and respond to emergency situations and adverse contrast reactions.
  • Contribute to the orientation of new personnel and development of in-services and cross-training programs.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a two-year radiological technology program from an AMA-approved educational institution.
  • A minimum of one year as a radiologic technologist and either one year of CT experience or successful completion of in-house CT cross-training program.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current State of Maryland licensure.
  • American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS CPR certification.
  • CT Certification.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

Employees in this position may be exposed to blood-borne pathogens. The physical demands of this role include heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
