Your Role:

This technical position entails the installation, programming, troubleshooting, configuration, commissioning, and maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control, and CCTV Systems, along with other related building system products at client locations.

Responsibilities include panel repair/reprogramming, device replacement/repair, resolving low voltage circuit issues, and conducting system tests. You will efficiently organize and utilize technical resources, information, materials, and support to ensure the effective execution of all assigned tasks.

This role primarily focuses on the programming of fire alarm, security, and access control system panels, with an emphasis on networked fire alarm systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and program integrated security and fire alarm systems.
  • Respond promptly to customer service requests, troubleshooting and repairing as necessary.
  • Participate in an after-hours service program as required.
  • Communicate with central dispatch regarding current work order status and updates on outstanding customer issues.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
  • Supervise and inspect equipment installation to meet customer and contract specifications.
  • Complete necessary certification courses on internal and external products utilized.
  • Timely completion and submission of all required task-related documentation.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 3+ years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety Systems, Access Control, CCTV, and Security Systems.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and operational/product manuals.
  • Proficient with hand tools, test equipment, multi-meters, digital analyzers, and commissioning devices.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in challenging positions, such as climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer needs.
  • Overnight travel may be necessary.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and quick learning ability.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that meets company standards.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
  • Must obtain and maintain any required licenses as per National, State, and Local codes.
  • Familiarity with electronic and digital test equipment.
  • Basic understanding of network concepts and architectures.
  • Knowledge of DOS and Windows operating systems.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.

Preferred:

  • Two-year associate degree in Electronics, Network, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • NICET level II certification or the ability to obtain it within the first year.
