Job Description

The Texas General Land Office primarily serves the schoolchildren, veterans, and the environment of Texas. The agency does so by preserving our history, maximizing state revenue through innovative administration, and through the prudent stewardship of state lands and natural resources. This position is with our Audit & Compliance area of the agency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establishes the strategic plan and goals and objectives for the CDR Compliance Division.
  • Develops policies, procedures, and guidelines for the division.
  • Coordinates and evaluates program activities and/or business functions.
  • Reviews and approves budgets within departments or divisions.
  • Supervises the work of others.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, auditing, business administration or a related field.
  • Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
  • Five years of experience in auditing, compliance or other related experience.
  • Five years of experience as a manager of an audit or monitoring function in the public or private sector.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, or Certified Fraud Examiner.
  • Five years of experience in managing a CDBG-DR compliance program.
  • Knowledge of CDBG-DR program requirements.
  • Knowledge of 2-CFR 200 compliance supplement requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Microsoft Office 365.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment procedures and methods.
  • Knowledge of fraud investigation procedures and methods.
