Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Senior Risk Management Associate to become a vital part of our Operational Risk Control Assessment team. This specialized group is dedicated to executing oversight responsibilities within the second line of defense for our organization.
The Risk Associates will engage in professional evaluations and challenges of operational controls identified through various risk assessment methodologies. This role focuses on recognizing material risks and operational controls, encompassing processes, systems, and products. The team provides essential feedback to the first line of defense, facilitating effective challenges regarding overall control efficacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of identified operational risk controls to ensure that risk-taking teams accurately represent their control environments.
- Ensure that issues are effectively communicated to relevant business areas and are remediated to mitigate outstanding risks or performance deficiencies.
- Support and perform detailed data analysis, including trend identification, problem-solving, and the development of remediation initiatives.
- Identify emerging risks and opportunities for process enhancements or increased training through the analysis of evaluation results.
- Collaborate across organizational boundaries to achieve objectives and manage competing priorities.
- Assist in reviewing procedures and updating documentation as necessary.
- Exhibit exceptional verbal and written communication skills; develop reports and presentations to support findings.
- Compile metrics to track performance and outcomes.
- Provide constructive challenges to the business when appropriate.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in audit or risk management.
- At least 1 year of experience in testing or quality assurance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Auditing, Finance, Economics, Planning, Information Systems, or Business Administration.
- 4+ years of experience in audit or risk management.
- 1+ years of experience in project or process management.
- Risk Management Certification.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to technology and operational resilience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
