About the Role

As an Industrial Field Service Engineer II at ANDRITZ, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of our supplied equipment at customer facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide mechanical repair, process startup, and customer training services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Confer with technical personnel to implement field service activities effectively.
  • Verify proper installation of Andritz supplied equipment using safe lifting practices.
  • Manage and execute repairs while ensuring timely information flow and work coordination.
  • Perform mechanical service, installation checkout, and process startup as required.
  • Prepare daily and weekly field service reports, along with supporting documents, for billing purposes and future reference.
  • Assist in spare parts recommendations to customers based on technical matters and critical on-hand parts.
  • Promote spare parts and repair business.
  • Ensure current OSHA training and wear required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at each jobsite.
  • Travel is required full-time as scheduled.

Candidate Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate must speak Spanish.
  • A valid passport is mandatory.
  • The candidate should be willing to spend multiple weeks working in Mexico when required for shutdowns.

Secondary Responsibilities - Machine Builder:

  • Perform in-house repair work or new equipment assembly as required.
  • Maintain rental/pilot units.
  • Assist with spare parts, equipment, and repair orders.
  • Participate in test trials (setting up, assisting, and cleanup).
  • Perform quality control procedures and inspection on subcontracted and vendor items.

Basic Skills:

  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Mechanical and Process knowledge of different Andritz manufactured equipment.
  • Experience in reading basic engineering drawings.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft (Windows, Word, Excel).
  • Problem-solving abilities.

Specialized Job Skills:

  • Ability to use most hand tools and have well-developed mechanical aptitude.
  • Capability to rig and handle cranes, forklifts, and other lifting equipment.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints.
  • Basic experience in maintenance environments, including troubleshooting, defining failure, and corrective action plans during machine downtime.
  • Ability to weld Carbon Steel/Stainless Steel (Mig, Tig, Fluxcore).
  • Handheld Vibration analysis experience a plus.
  • Electromechanical Technology degree or trade school a plus.
  • PLC programming experience and knowledge (AB, Siemens S7, Modicon Concept, GE Cimplicity, IFix, Wonderware) required for specific positions.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
