We specialize in the design, construction, operation, and commercialization of stratospheric balloon systems. Role Overview:

As an Electro-Mechanical Production Technician at Urban Sky, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication and refurbishment of payload and avionics systems at our headquarters. Collaborating closely with our Lead Electronics Technician and hardware engineering team, you will be involved in assembling both production and research systems for routine flight operations.

This position is based at our headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fabrication and integration of electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Conduct semi-automated testing of completed assemblies.
  • Identify and resolve manufacturing issues with support from our Electrical Engineering team.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience in assembly, repair, and troubleshooting within an ESD-sensitive environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while ensuring high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong mechanical skills and understanding of mechanical principles.
  • Effective problem-solving, troubleshooting, critical thinking, and creative thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace following the 5S methodology.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with a startup environment.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis) processes.
  • Experience in technical writing.
  • Skills in through-hole and SMD soldering.
Requirements:
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Willingness to relocate if necessary.
