We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Health Center Activities Assistant at Westminster Point Pleasant, a beautiful waterfront continuing care retirement community. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, and directing the overall operation of the activities department, ensuring an on-going program of activities that meets the interests and abilities of each resident.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and conduct programs as assigned by the Activities Director, encouraging residents to attend and participate.
- Lead and assist residents on community outings, promoting socialization and engagement.
- Conduct one-on-one activities with residents requiring individualized attention, fostering a sense of connection and belonging.
- Complete documentation, such as assessments and daily attendance sheets, to ensure accurate records and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Purchase and organize decorations and supplies for daily activities and holidays, enhancing the overall aesthetic and atmosphere of the Health Center.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certified nurse assistant certificate preferred.
- Experience in recreational and activities programs in senior citizens group nursing homes or related activities within the last two years.
- Familiarity with dementia or willingness to learn about the condition.
- Innovative and enthusiastic individual with a passion for working with seniors.
- Self-starter with flexibility to work weekends and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Ability to make an impact and contribute to the success of the activities department.
