Position Overview

Position Title: Nurse Manager (RN or LPN)

Compensation: Hourly Rate: $44.44; Annual Salary: $74,000, commensurate with experience.

Role Summary:

A full-time Nurse Manager position is available at our Battle Ground Medical Clinic. Sea Mar Community Health Centers is accredited by The Joint Commission and recognized by the National Committee of Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) level III.

The Nurse Manager collaborates closely with the Health Center Administrator and Clinical Director to oversee the daily operations of the clinic. This role includes clinical and administrative supervision of nursing staff within the clinic. Ideal candidates will exhibit empathy, composure, passion, and a strong desire to impact community health positively. They will possess an understanding of the Social Determinants of Health and their implications in Community Health Care, distinguishing it from other healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and assess a team of approximately 10-12 Medical Assistants (MA), including MA supervisors.
  • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures in partnership with the Medical Director and Health Center Administrator to align with Sea Mar's standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct monthly audits (NPSG audits, etc.) and demonstrate a thorough understanding of State and Federal Regulations applicable to health centers or hospitals.
  • Direct clinic initiatives towards quality measures, HEDIS, and Meaningful Use standards.
  • Facilitate annual training sessions for MAs covering topics such as infection control and sterilization techniques.
  • Lead recruitment efforts for MAs and participate in the hiring process for additional support staff.
  • Oversee and maintain a patient care system dedicated to nurse-only visits.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with an active RN or BSN license in the state of Washington.
  • LPNs may be considered if they possess equivalent experience to meet the qualifications satisfactorily.
  • Completion of state-mandated HIV education is required.
  • Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification within 90 days of hire and maintain current certification throughout employment.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), along with strong listening and team-building abilities, are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and coaching skills.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a self-motivated attitude are advantageous.
