We are seeking a Dedicated Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Westchester Medical Center. In this role, you will provide direct observation of patients and participate as a member of the treatment team in creating and maintaining a therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for patients, including basic physical patient care
  • Assist staff in unit functions and interact with all members of the health care team
  • Observe and record general condition of patients
  • Collect specimens and perform tests as required
  • Notify Registered Nurses of any changes in patient status

Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of accepted standards of caring for and comforting the sick, disabled, injured or others requiring mental health or personal assistance
  • Good knowledge of entry-level medical and psychiatric terminology
  • Skill in customer service as it relates to the delivery of care
  • Ability to work independently and maintain good interpersonal relationships with patients, co-workers and all members of the healthcare team
