Bilingual Eligibility Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Bilingual Eligibility Specialist to join our team in the Texas Medical Center. As a key member of our patient care team, you will be responsible for facilitating the eligibility process for patients and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities- Assess patient eligibility for Medicaid, Medicare, and other health programs by reviewing documentation and conducting interviews.
- Collect and verify required documentation, including income verification, identification, and residency.
- Communicate directly with applicants to clarify their eligibility and assist with any needed documentation.
- Provide bilingual assistance to patients and their families in both English and Spanish, explaining eligibility requirements, benefits, and application processes.
- Answer inquiries about benefits, application status, and eligibility changes through phone, email, or in-person interactions.
- Assist patients in completing Medicaid, Medicare, and other healthcare application forms.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Previous experience in healthcare eligibility, patient services, or insurance verification is preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and other healthcare programs and insurance processes is a plus.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Metro Rail card provided.

The estimated salary for this position is $18 per hour, based on industry standards and location. We offer a competitive compensation package that includes opportunities for professional growth and development.
