Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team at DoubleTree by Hilton in Billings, MT. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and company standards to ensure consistency of product and high guest satisfaction.
  • Prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items for production.
  • Visually inspect and select only food items of the highest standard for preparation.
  • Check and control the proper storage of product and portion control to maintain quality product.
  • Keep all refrigeration, equipment, and storage areas clean and in working condition to comply with health department regulations.
  • Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
  • Knowledge of operating all kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles, etc.
  • Must have knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service.
  • Properly receive and store food and other deliveries.
  • Be readily available and approachable for all guests.
  • Be an enthusiastic, helpful, and positive member of the team.
  • Be professional, responsible, and mature in conduct and behavior.
  • Be self-motivated and use time wisely.
  • Be available to help other departments in emergency situations.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt processes and standards.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to read recipes and follow instructions.
  • Ability to physically demonstrate culinary techniques, including cutting, cooking principles, plate presentation, safety, and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures, including freezers and kitchens.
  • Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours.
  • Ability to physically handle knives, pots, mirrors, and other display items, as well as grasp, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 pounds regularly.
