At Piedmont Airlines, we are dedicated to providing exceptional service to our customers and airline partners. We are currently looking for a committed and dependable individual to fill the role of Customer Service Agent within our Ground Handling Department.
Position Overview:
The primary function of this role involves assisting passengers during the boarding and disembarking processes, managing the Jetway, overseeing computerized passenger boarding systems, and guiding as well as parking aircraft. The ideal candidate will successfully complete the required training program, be capable of lifting up to seventy (70) pounds, and be prepared to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking from flights.
- Monitor and manage computerized passenger boarding systems.
- Provide assistance to customers with special needs, including arranging for wheelchairs and unaccompanied minors.
- Modify customer flight itineraries and seat assignments as necessary.
- Operate the Jetway efficiently.
- Load and unload baggage and cargo as required.
- Utilize motorized service vehicles and equipment safely.
- Guide and park aircraft in designated areas.
- Perform cabin maintenance tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver outstanding customer service and achieve corporate goals.
- Completion of the Customer Service Agent training course.
- Ability to meet organizational objectives and customer expectations in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Capability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Prior experience in the airline industry.
- Experience in a front-line customer service role.
- Basic familiarity with computer applications and software.
- Utilization of computers, telephones, and various office equipment.
- Exposure to an airport ramp environment, which may include fluctuating weather conditions and elevated noise levels.
- Availability for all shifts, including weekends, nights, holidays, and irregular hours.
- Frequent activities such as stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, standing, reaching, lifting, and climbing stairs.
- Regularly handle objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
- Assist passengers with disabilities, including but not limited to, pushing wheelchairs.
