Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing patient records, documenting treatment plans, and updating dental files
- Operating diagnostic imaging equipment and developing radiographs
- Preparing and sterilizing surgical instruments and materials in compliance with safety protocols
- Assisting the periodontist during chairside procedures, including setup and cleanup
- Preparing patients for surgical procedures and monitoring vital signs
- Educating patients on periodontal health, treatment options, and aftercare
- Managing inventory and ordering supplies for periodontal treatments
- Maintaining instruments and equipment for optimal performance
- Performing additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Completion of a certified dental assistant program (preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in dental surgical assisting
- Certification as a dental surgery assistant (preferred)
- Radiography certification (preferred)
- CPR certification required
