About the Role:
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance professionals in achieving our preventative maintenance goals, reducing downtime, and ensuring production equipment uptime. This role will require strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to develop and implement effective maintenance strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the normal operation of systems and equipment in the plant, including food production equipment, freezers, ovens, and coolers.
- Downtime Resolution: Review and resolve downtime issues by updating or modifying the preventative maintenance plan or predictive solutions.
- Maintenance Scheduling: Coordinate equipment repairs and send out maintenance schedules on a weekly basis that conform to departmental plans.
- Team Leadership: Develop and direct internal mechanical, electrical, and instrument shift maintenance activities, instrument calibration and repair activities, and spare parts management to safely achieve required manufacturing equipment utilization, reliability, and efficiencies.
- Procedure Development: Evaluate, define, develop, and implement procedures and equipment changes for maintenance effectiveness measurement, predictive maintenance programs, EHS compliance, or building and other codes compliance.
- Employee Development: Monitor and improve employee efficiency and productivity, conduct staff meetings, performance evaluations, and provide leadership for subordinate supervisors and employees.
- Collaboration: Develop close working relationships with production and quality management teams.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure knowledge of and adherence to plant policies and government regulatory agencies (FDA/USDA) requirements.
- Safety and Quality: Promote established safety programs and ensure safe operating procedures, monitor employee compliance, and ensure compliance to GMP's, SOP's, and company policies.
- Facility Maintenance: Ensure plant facility and equipment are maintained according to standards.
- HACCP Team Member: Participate in the HACCP team to ensure food safety and quality.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field.
- Experience: 3 years of management experience within a maintenance department, ideally in a food processing plant.
- Skills: Strong computer skills (systems, CMMS, AutoCAD & MS Office), excellent verbal and written communication ability, and proven leadership and people management skills in a high-paced, multicultural environment.
- Language: Bilingual a plus.
