They play a vital role in enhancing the department's initiatives aimed at boosting student retention and success rates. Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Master's Degree in Physics or a closely related discipline
  • Experience in a higher education teaching environment or with adult learners
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, learning management systems, and relevant instructional technologies
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Ability to inspire enthusiasm and passion for Physics education

Conditions of Employment

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The College operates in a mixed instructional format, offering both in-person and online courses. Faculty members may need to create a suitable workspace and ensure reliable internet access for remote instruction, while the College provides necessary technical support and equipment. In-person instruction typically occurs in classroom settings, requiring extended periods of standing or sitting. Faculty often utilize computers and media tools in their work.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT/SALARY:
This is a part-time, non-tenured position with assignments reviewed on a quarter-to-quarter basis. Compensation is determined by the number of contact hours as per the agreement with the Shoreline Community College Federation of Teachers. Hiring is contingent upon available funding as determined by the College President.
