Job Overview
The Culinary Operations Supervisor is responsible for delivering exceptional plate presentation and timely service to all residents and guests at Senior Star Living. This role ensures the safety and satisfaction of our residents while collaborating with fellow team members to achieve the community's leasing and marketing objectives. The position operates in alignment with the Senior Star Living Mission, Vision, Values, and Goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees kitchen operations during assigned shifts, which includes daily decision-making, staff support, resident engagement, scheduling, menu development, product quality assurance, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Creates work schedules and guarantees that all areas of responsibility are adequately staffed for each shift.
- Recruits, trains, and nurtures hourly associates through continuous feedback, coaching, and the establishment of performance expectations, including regular performance evaluations.
- Ensures that all newly hired staff complete their designated training plans.
- Engages with residents to confirm they receive appropriate service and addresses any concerns or complaints they may have.
- Proactively manages shifts and anticipates the needs of residents.
- Ensures that the kitchen and service areas are properly prepared for each shift.
- Monitors kitchen operations and promptly addresses any discrepancies.
- Efficiently manages inventory, ensuring accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintains high standards of food quality through rigorous cleanliness, organization, storage, and sanitation of food products.
- Mentors and develops other culinary and service staff.
- Takes responsibility for the purchasing, receiving, and storage of food products.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a kitchen management role with a solid understanding of culinary operations.
- Prior experience in purchasing and food production is preferred.
- Previous kitchen experience is advantageous.
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Frequent bending and stooping required.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
