Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner

WorkCare is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner to support our on-site clinic in Irvine, CA. The successful candidate will provide occupational and environmental health services to employees, as needed and within their scope of clinical licensure.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain frequent communication with the Consulting Medical Director (CMD) and WorkCare Supervisor regarding all clinic issues and client requests.
• Maintain medical records and Private Health Information following all applicable HIPAA laws, regulations, and guidelines.
• Support Medical Surveillance exams, such as audiograms, vision tests, pulmonary function, respirator fit testing, and DOT testing requirements, as needed for purposes of interpretation of test/exam results.
• Provide first aid, medical treatment, and appropriate follow-ups for work-related injuries and/or illnesses as time allows beyond medical surveillance needs.
• Provide emergency medical response, as needed.
• Perform effective case management follow-up for injuries/illness and absences.
• Perform employee health screenings and surveillance programs, including new hire, fit-for-duty, return-to-work, medical surveillance, exit exams, and substance abuse screenings.
• Provide return-to-work clearance exams, as appropriate.
• Computer data entry of all employee demographic and health information.
• May review work-related injury and illness management protocols annually and when regulations change.
• Assist in developing and maintaining programs for AED, medical surveillance, hearing conservation, health and wellness, ergonomics, and other implemented programs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with management, medical, and safety personnel, co-workers, and WorkCare supervisors.
• Provide timely, accurate reporting as dictated by ABBVIE, WorkCare, and by law.
• Expedite injury information to ABBVIE's management and insurance companies, as directed.
• Provide additional services, as directed by the WorkCare CMD or Director of Onsite Clinic Operations.
• Utilize the AbbVie's OHM system for record keeping.
• Develop and conduct SAT training.
• Gain first-hand familiarity with site conditions through systematic inspections of the workplace and observations of tasks involving potential exposure to physical, chemical, and biological hazards.
• Work with environmental health and safety departments to provide guidance in developing, implementing, and managing workplace hazard control programs.
• Conduct work-site visits, consultations with other site-specific health and safety professionals, and participate in key committees involving occupational health issues.
• Attend AbbVie claim review meetings, when requested, with workers compensation adjustors and health and safety staff as appropriate (NP or RN).
• Develop occupational health goals (NP, in collaboration with RN/SAT Team, could establish OH goals).
• Design and monitor metrics to measure progress, providing periodic focus on the status of these metrics (NP, in collaboration with RN/SAT Team, could establish metrics).
