Job Summary

This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with Title IX regulations and fostering a safe and respectful educational environment free from discrimination based on sex or gender.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Investigations: Conducts investigations related to allegations of discrimination and/or harassment of protected classes (Title VI, Title VII, Title II ADA, ADEA, Section 504) and sexual harassment (Title IX) for employees and students.
  • Policies and Procedures: Monitors, reviews, and evaluates personnel policies and practices of the School Division to ensure compliance with Federal and State laws and administrative regulations.
  • Complaint Processing: Receives and processes complaints related to allegations of discrimination and/or harassment of protected classes and sexual harassment (Title IX).
  • Training and Development: Trains employees in protected class discrimination and sexual discrimination and harassment Title IX to include reporting procedures.
  • Record Keeping: Maintains detailed records of all complaints and investigations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Assists, discusses with, and advises the Chief of Human Resources on allegation reports and investigation outcomes.
  • Grievance Process: Coordinates and facilitates the Grievance Process for Sexual Discrimination or Harassment Prohibited by Title IX in accordance with School Board policies.
  • Policy Interpretation: Interprets School policy and procedure.
  • Compliance Tracking: Ensures that legal and compliance information, including legal posters and postings, are displayed in division schools and offices.
  • Research and Analysis: Tracks and updates the Human Resources Department on changes and updates in employment laws.
  • Other Duties: Performs other assigned tasks or related work as required and as assigned by the Chief of Human Resources.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Skills: Experience in a compliance role, preferably in an educational setting; in-depth knowledge of Title IX regulations and related Federal and State laws; strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate related field or a combination of education and extensive work experience comparable to a four-year degree required. Master's Degree and Current PHR/SPHR or CCP certification preferred.
