DOT Compliance Specialist

At Arc3 Gases Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled DOT Compliance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our team of over 400 CDL drivers remains compliant with DOT, FMCSA, NTA, and IFTA regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Qualify new drivers by ensuring all credentials, Clearinghouse Queries, Driver Qualification Paperwork, and DOT Testing have been completed.
- Coordinate employee training for Hazardous Materials/Hazard Communication, defensive driving, hours of service, pre and post trip inspections, and other applicable training.
- Prepare, maintain, regularly audit, and purge driver qualification files.
- Coordinate random, reasonable suspicion, follow-up, and post-accident drug testing for existing drivers.
- Utilize the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse to review new drivers' records and complete the annual review for all existing drivers.
- Maintain the Random Drug & Alcohol pool list and confirm that testing is performed as required.
- Notify drivers of upcoming document expirations, obtain renewed documents, and electronically store them.
- Review and approve driver MVRs on at least an annual basis.
- Manage prospective and current employees with positive drug test results through the DOT return to duty process.
- Continuously monitor DOT, FMCSA, NTA, and IFTA, and state and local government regulatory activities to ensure that our drivers remain compliant.
- Work with our Regulatory Compliance Manager and General Counsel to address any driver compliance issues.
- Manage Arc3's Entry Level Driver Training Program.
- Modernize Arc3's DOT Compliance administration by leveraging technology, automation, and best practices.
- Prepare and file various registrations and permits.
- Order placards, logbooks, daily truck inspection books, etc.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- 5+ years of experience in a professional office environment is preferred.
- 2 years of experience in a similar DOT administrative support role is strongly preferred.
- Strong preference for prior knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements.
- Must possess excellent organizational skills and be detail-oriented.
- Proficiency in MS Office is required.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality is required.
- Must be able to multi-task, follow directions, be open to change, and work under pressure.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
