GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This role involves performing advanced security enforcement tasks. Responsibilities include monitoring and patrolling the premises, managing access for employees and visitors, inspecting and securing buildings and equipment, maintaining facility security, and monitoring for contraband.

Work is conducted under general supervision with a degree of independence. Candidates may be required to work beyond standard hours and be available on-call.

This position requires successful completion of a written assessment and a physical fitness evaluation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Control access to secure areas by verifying authorized entry or exit.
- Conduct patrols of buildings and grounds, identifying unauthorized individuals and reporting incidents.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and document incidents.
- Manage vehicle traffic at facility entry points, including deliveries.
- Respond to emergencies and initiate necessary notifications.
- Maintain visitor logs and monitor radio communications.
- Issue and track keys, ensuring proper access control.
- Collaborate with facility personnel to achieve security objectives and address concerns.
- Report and address any security violations or suspicious activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

All duties must be performed in accordance with agency safety protocols:
  • Report and rectify safety hazards.
  • Complete required documentation for any incidents.
Regular attendance is essential in compliance with agency policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Level II or III security guard license from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
  • Experience in military police or military service.
  • Proficiency in firearms use.
Note: All educational qualifications must be from accredited institutions.

This position is subject to mandatory drug testing prior to employment.

Continued employment requirements include:
  • Maintaining a valid driver's license.
  • Failure to maintain the required license may result in termination.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

The following physical demands are essential for this role:

- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to see and hear (with or without assistance).
- Capability for heavy lifting (up to 45 lbs).
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Ability to operate motor equipment and perform manual dexterity tasks.
