Senior Substation Project Engineer

POWER Engineers is seeking a senior-level electrical engineer with substation design experience to work as a Substation Project Engineer in our Power Delivery Substation Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of English and excellent written and oral communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Grow and manage relationships with local clients
  • Mentor less experienced staff in substation project execution
  • Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations
  • Ensure POWER quality procedures are followed and that the team is resourced in an optimal manner
  • Perform QA/QC for deliverables to clients across multiple offices
  • Manage all schedule, budget, and quality of assigned projects
Requirements:
  • BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) from an accredited university
  • Professional Engineering license (PE) or ability to obtain within one year
  • Experience in 15kV through 345kV physical and electrical substation design, and IEEE/ANSI standards
  • Experience in managing 5 or more people on a project team
  • Experience filling the role of project engineer for several projects occurring concurrently
Desired Qualifications:
  • Ten or more years experience in utility substation design
  • Experience with and established positive relationships with local clients
  • Experience in 345kV through 500 kV substation design
