Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, patient treatment areas, and surgical and dental facilities to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Administer medications and injections, perform phlebotomy, digital radiology, and in-house laboratory testing, as well as prepare for shipment to our reference lab.
- Assist veterinarians with surgery and anesthesia monitoring, dental cleaning, and digital radiography.
- Perform emergency procedures as directed by the veterinarian and provide critical care to patients.
- Provide excellent client education and communication, including written and verbal instructions on animal care and health.
- Work effectively as a team member in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and maintaining a calm and composed demeanor in stressful situations.
- Utilize computer skills, preferably with Cornerstone, to manage patient records and clinic operations.
- Safely and gently handle animals, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in veterinary technology or a related field preferred.
- Current certification as a veterinary technician or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other staff members.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent bending and stooping.
