Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with external sources to solicit residential mortgage applications and generate high-quality loans.
- Establish and nurture relationships with real estate agents, builders, financial advisors, bank branches, previous clients, and other unconventional sources.
- Communicate effectively with clients to assess their needs and deliver exceptional customer service; inform potential and current clients about Wells Fargo Home Mortgage offerings; evaluate and recommend mortgage products tailored to client requirements.
- Provide insights for loan production and exercise independent judgment while gaining knowledge of the functional area, policies, procedures, compliance standards, and loan generation.
- Uphold a high level of client satisfaction and quality by ensuring timely and proactive communication with customers.
- Comply with policies, underwriting standards, compliance protocols, and loan procedures. Collaborate with fulfillment partners to address client needs throughout the loan origination process.
- Continuously pursue training opportunities offered by Wells Fargo to enhance understanding of company products, policies, procedures, and underwriting standards.
- Stay updated on trends and developments in the mortgage industry within the assigned market and work to maintain a strong presence for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
- This SAFE position involves customer interaction and responsibilities that may include offering or negotiating terms and/or processing applications for secured transactions. Compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and related regulations is required. Ongoing employment is contingent upon meeting all such requirements, including satisfactory background investigation results. Individuals in SAFE roles must also meet Loan Originator requirements under Regulation Z.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Mortgage Retail Sales, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience in retail residential mortgage with a focus on purchase fundings referred from established local or external sources within the past year.
- Experience in educating clients about various mortgage options.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Background in the mortgage industry.
- Understanding of sales prospecting and referral generation.
- Experience in developing and maintaining professional relationships.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Customer service experience.
- This position requires SAFE registration upon employment. Wells Fargo will initiate the SAFE registration process immediately after your start date. The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) website provides the necessary questions and registration for this role. Individuals in Loan Originator positions must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification criteria and comply with Wells Fargo policies. Qualification requirements include financial responsibility, character assessment, general financial fitness, and criminal background standards. A current credit report will be utilized to evaluate financial responsibility and credit fitness, although a credit score will not be part of the assessment. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements, including additional screening if necessary.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled.
