Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at SSM Health DePaul Hospital in St. Louis. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for taking x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and providing support for the imaging department.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding and provides appropriate educational material.
  • Transports patients to and from clinical areas and verifies patient identity according to policies and procedures.
  • Prepares patients for radiology exams by positioning them for the procedure.
  • Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent patient exposure to unnecessary radiation.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Observes patients during procedures and reports abnormal activity.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and other areas.
  • May perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT Technologist is not on site.
Education and Experience

An Associate's degree or completion of a radiology certification program is required. No experience is necessary, but a strong understanding of radiology principles and practices is essential.

Physical Requirements

This role requires constant standing and walking, frequent use of vision and depth perception, and frequent lifting and moving of patients. Occasional lifting and pushing/pulling of objects weighing 25-50 pounds is also required.

Credentials and Certifications

A Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association is required. An ARRT-R Radiography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is also required. Relocation assistance is available for those outside of metro St. Louis.

Work Schedule

This is a Weekend Option Part-Time position, working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8am-4:30pm. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates.
