Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management.
  • Lead the development of the department's budget and financial plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to entry-level managers and supervisors, ensuring effective financial management and control.
  • Collaborate with leadership to determine department-wide budgets and provide timely and concise financial information for presentation and review.
  • Compile, analyze, and present annual budget reports, including review of cash flow projections and financial performance.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least six years of experience in budget, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Four years of previous management or supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or other financial systems-based products.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent data analysis skills, with the ability to review and evaluate financial/budget figures.
Veteran's Preference

Cook County Government offers a preference in the application process to honorably discharged Veterans who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States for more than 180 consecutive days, or during War Time.
