Job Overview

Sentry is in search of several analytical and results-oriented professionals to join our Actuarial team within the Property and Casualty Commercial Lines sector. Our Actuaries utilize advanced analytical capabilities combined with business insight to deliver innovative solutions to real-world insurance challenges in specialized markets.

Position Details

These mid-level Actuary roles will be filled based on the qualifications and experience of the chosen candidates.

Work Arrangement

These positions will be based in a hybrid work model, allowing for remote work on designated days.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of our Property and Casualty Commercial Lines Actuarial team, you will:

  • Implement and suggest enhancements to actuarial methodologies and practices, including those for assessing loss and expense reserves, preparing rate submissions, and determining pricing levels.
  • Guide actuarial technicians or support staff in their tasks.
  • Conduct and oversee research initiatives.
  • Analyze trends, assess their impact on profitability and growth targets, and provide recommendations as necessary.
  • Generate financial reports and complete detailed actuarial analyses.
  • Calculate premiums or reserves for various products and perform complex analyses, including data collection and evaluation of component impacts.
  • Execute advanced statistical analyses of management issues and offer recommendations based on findings.

In addition, you will:

  • Provide high-level technical actuarial assistance to other departments as required.
  • Propose and initiate advanced actuarial methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in mathematics or actuarial science.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Completion of 4 or more actuarial examinations.
  • Strong foundation in statistics, economics, finance, or accounting.
