Sentry is on the lookout for several analytical and results-oriented professionals to join our Actuarial team within the Property and Casualty Commercial Lines sector. Our Actuaries leverage their analytical expertise and business insight to tackle real-world insurance challenges, whether it's assessing rate adequacy, managing corporate insurance risks, or determining insurance pricing strategies.
These mid-level Actuarial roles will be filled based on the qualifications and experience of the chosen candidates.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of our Property and Casualty Commercial Lines Actuarial team, you will:
- Implement and suggest modifications to actuarial methodologies and processes, including those for evaluating loss and expense reserves, preparing rate submissions, and setting pricing levels.
- Guide actuarial technicians or technical assistants in their work.
- Conduct and oversee research initiatives.
- Analyze trends, assess their impact on profitability and growth objectives, and provide recommendations as necessary.
- Generate financial reports and complete comprehensive actuarial analyses.
- Calculate premiums or reserves for various products and conduct complex analyses, including data collection and evaluation of the effects of different components.
- Execute advanced statistical analyses on management issues and offer recommendations based on your findings.
Additionally, you will:
- Provide high-level technical actuarial support to other departments as required.
- Propose and initiate advanced actuarial methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience with a focus on mathematics or actuarial science.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Completion of 4 or more actuarial examinations.
- Strong foundation in statistics, economics, computing, finance, or accounting.
