Job Overview

Sentry is on the lookout for analytical and results-oriented professionals to join our Actuarial team within the Property and Casualty Commercial Lines sector. Our Actuaries leverage advanced analytical skills and business insight to devise innovative solutions for real-world insurance challenges in specialized markets.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of our Property and Casualty Commercial Lines Actuarial team, you will:

  • Assess and suggest modifications to actuarial methodologies and processes, including evaluating loss and expense reserves, preparing rate submissions, and determining pricing structures.
  • Guide actuarial technicians or technical assistants in their work.
  • Conduct and oversee research initiatives.
  • Analyze trends, evaluate their impact on profitability and growth targets, and provide recommendations as necessary.
  • Prepare financial documentation and complete detailed actuarial analyses.
  • Calculate premiums or reserves for various products and perform complex analyses, including data collection and evaluation of different components.
  • Execute advanced statistical analyses of management challenges and offer recommendations based on your findings.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced technical actuarial support to other departments as required.
  • Propose and implement sophisticated actuarial techniques.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with a focus on mathematics or actuarial science.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Completion of 4 or more actuarial examinations.
  • A solid foundation in statistics, economics, computer science, finance, or accounting.
