The Academic Advisor I plays a crucial role in guiding undergraduate students through their academic journey. This position involves assisting students with their course selections, providing insights into academic policies, and connecting them with essential university services.

  • Offers expert advice on degree pathways, course planning, and academic standards.
  • Tracks student academic performance and ensures they meet graduation criteria.
  • Connects students with appropriate resources to address various academic needs.
  • Facilitates communication between academic departments and university administrative offices.
  • Fosters collaborative relationships with faculty and staff to enhance student support.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience: No prior experience required in advising or recruitment.
  • Skills: Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Strong written communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Abilities: Capable of managing multiple tasks and collaborating effectively with others.
  • Certifications: Must possess a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's degree and proficiency in Bilingual Spanish are advantageous.

Supervision:
Oversees student workers and graduate assistants.

All positions are security-sensitive. Employment is contingent upon verification of credentials and completion of a criminal history check.
