Job Title

Adjunct Faculty Position in Computer Science and Information Systems

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science and Information Systems at Texas A&M University-Commerce. The successful candidate will have a strong background in computer science and the ability to teach a variety of courses, including introductory programming, data structures, and software engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Teach up to seven semester credit hours of undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science and Information Systems.
  • Develop and manage course syllabi to ensure alignment with department and college standards.
  • Plan and deliver lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments that promote student learning and engagement.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback on assignments and exams.
  • Assist students with academic and career-related issues as needed.
Requirements
  • Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Computer Science or a closely related field is required to teach undergraduate courses.
  • A terminal degree in Computer Science or a closely related field is required to teach graduate courses.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications
  • College or university teaching experience.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence.
  • Online or hybrid teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching computer science virtual laboratories.
