Speech Therapist

We are seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide comprehensive speech and language services to students.
Key Responsibilities
Therapy Services
The successful candidate will conduct evaluations to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs) for students based on their unique needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom and home environments.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
Collaboration and Communication
The ideal candidate will participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise on speech and language goals and progress.
- Educate and train school staff, parents, and caregivers on strategies to support students' communication skills.
- Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as school district policies.
Requirements
Education and Licensure
The successful candidate must hold a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Current Ohio Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Ohio Speech and Hearing Professionals Board is also required.
Experience and Skills
Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team, are essential for this role.
Preferred Qualifications
Augmentative and Alternative Communication
Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices is a plus.
Working Conditions
The position requires working in a school environment, which may involve moving between classrooms and schools within the district.
Lifting or moving equipment used for therapy may also be required.
The successful candidate must pass a criminal background check as required by the Ohio Department of Education and the school district.
