The Project Scheduler is tasked with the creation, upkeep, and oversight of project timelines within the Antarctic Research Vessel (ARV) shipbuilding initiative, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and on schedule. This position requires close collaboration with the project manager and various stakeholders to establish achievable timelines, pinpoint potential setbacks, and execute corrective measures. The Project Scheduler is integral to the planning, execution, and monitoring phases of the project and will contribute to TOTE Services' Earned Value Management System (EVMS) to track progress across all facets of the ARV program.

Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule Development and Management:
- Create a comprehensive Integrated Master Schedule that includes detailed project timelines, defining tasks, durations, dependencies, and key milestones.
- Regularly update and maintain project schedules to reflect actual progress and any modifications in project scope or timelines.
- Monitoring and Analysis:
- Track the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) against the baseline to identify variances.
- Conduct critical path analysis to detect potential delays and assess their implications on project completion.
- Perform schedule risk evaluations and devise mitigation strategies.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work alongside project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather schedule-related inputs and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Provide updates on schedule status, risks, and changes to project teams and senior management through regular reports and meetings.
- Integration and Reporting:
- Merge project schedules with other project management tools and systems, including EVMS.
- Prepare and deliver detailed schedule reports, featuring Gantt charts, progress updates, and performance metrics.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for enhancing scheduling processes and tools.
- Implement best practices in project scheduling and contribute to the establishment of scheduling standards and guidelines.
- Compliance and Audits:
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements concerning project scheduling.
- Engage in internal and external audits and address any findings related to scheduling practices.
- Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in project scheduling for large shipbuilding projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Strong grasp of project management principles and methodologies.
- Knowledgeable in new construction shipbuilding activities.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of scheduling techniques, critical path method (CPM), and resource management.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
Working Environment:
- Office setting with occasional travel to project sites as necessary.
