Overview

The Sales Operations Manager will be responsible for managing accounts to ensure guest satisfaction while actively pursuing new business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue targets.

This role involves soliciting new group sales accounts and nurturing relationships with existing clients to achieve revenue goals across rooms, food, beverage, and rental services. The position will require travel to various properties, with a significant portion of time spent on-site, as well as remote work from a home office.

Responsibilities

1. Actively seek new and existing accounts to surpass revenue goals through various sales strategies, including prospecting, outside sales calls, site inspections, and written communication.

2. Achieve or exceed sales targets related to transactions and lead closure rates.

3. Maximize revenue by effectively selling all aspects of the hotel to potential clients.

4. Ensure that all details related to account solicitation and closure are thoroughly documented and communicated across departments.

5. Respond promptly to inbound leads to secure new business within established timelines.

6. Accurately detail banquet and catering events in proposals, contracts, and sales systems, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of any updates.

7. Provide overall direction and coordination of operations, ensuring high-quality service to clients.

8. Monitor group room blocks and pick-up rates, generating detailed reports for operational departments as needed.

9. Conduct persuasive sales presentations to prospective clients.

10. Prepare and maintain correspondence with customers and internal booking reports.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

- A minimum of 1 year of sales experience preferred.

- Essential experience in hospitality, particularly in event detailing.

- Familiarity with various hotel sizes and tiers is necessary.

- Flexibility in work location and travel is required.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and hotel sales systems is required.

- Knowledge of market trends and competition within the hotel industry is advantageous.

- Ability to prioritize, plan, organize, and delegate tasks effectively.

- Must be a team player, willing to assist colleagues as needed.
