Licensed Registered Nurse - Skilled Nursing

About the Role
As a Licensed Registered Nurse, you will significantly influence the well-being of our residents by delivering expert nursing care.

Available Shift:
Full-time, 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends.

Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of our organization, you will contribute to our clients' well-being through the following duties:
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations in all aspects of nursing care.
  • Organize, direct, and oversee nursing staff in fulfilling their duties.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director, Nurses, Consultants, and Therapists to implement elder care policies.
  • Stay informed about internal operational management policies.
  • Develop, train, and lead staff in a customer-focused environment.
  • Encourage innovative ideas and cultivate trust among staff, residents, and families.
  • Facilitate communication between the Nursing Department and other disciplines.
  • Assess and evaluate nursing services to enhance the quality of elder care and optimize nursing efficiency.
  • Conduct daily rounds in the facility for visibility, assessment, and evaluation of care.
  • Recruit, supervise, and provide guidance to direct reports as necessary.
  • Foster professional growth and development; set and communicate goals and objectives.
  • Monitor performance and provide constructive feedback; conduct annual evaluations.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all residents and colleagues.
  • Follow individual service plans; administer or supervise treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Administer all necessary injections and perform in-house testing procedures; take and record vital signs.

Qualifications
To excel in this position and be a valuable addition to our team, you should possess the following qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program and current licensure by the Texas State Board of Nursing. Experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a healthcare or long-term care setting, particularly in geriatric nursing, is preferred.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding business documents in English; must speak English fluently.
  • Effective verbal communication skills with residents, families, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Ability to lift and move objects and/or individuals, with varying weights as required.
  • Strong personnel management skills, including staff selection, development, motivation, scheduling, and evaluation.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage a wide range of information effectively.
  • Proficient in computer-related tasks and software applications required for the role.
  • Capable of performing tasks requiring fine motor skills, such as writing and typing.
  • A professional commitment to ethical principles that align with Buckner's mission and values.
  • Physical ability to perform various movements and tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to discern differences in sounds and respond appropriately.
  • Capacity to exercise independent judgment within broad nursing guidelines and demonstrate leadership abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with colleagues, residents, families, and the public.
  • Ability to maintain composure and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
