Position Overview:

Arc Broward is seeking a Director of Family Services (DFS) to spearhead our Family Strengthening and Respite Care with Enrichment programs, along with overseeing our Intake, Social Services, and Case Management within the Children's Division.

The DFS is tasked with providing effective and encouraging leadership that fosters a culture of appreciation and support for team members, aligning with the organization's mission, vision, and values. This role is crucial in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered services and support to families of children with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategically plan and supervise the delivery of direct support services, ensuring adherence to Individual Person-Centered Planning, program design, and service delivery models tailored for children and families.
  • Oversee personnel management functions, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation, ensuring compliance with HR policies and regulatory standards while promoting team development. The DFS will manage a team of 3 to 5 direct reports and support a department of approximately 20 members.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility by managing departmental budgets in accordance with best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant contracts, policies, procedures, and regulations, including the preparation and submission of necessary reports for funders as per contractual obligations.
  • Enhance public relations by educating the community about individuals with disabilities and advocating for their rights and responsibilities.
  • Oversee the enrollment and disenrollment processes for children and families.
  • Manage participant records effectively.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Child and Family Services, Human Services Administration, Special Education, or a related field is required.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, with excellent organizational, project management, interpersonal, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data-driven practices are essential.
  • Experience in managing complex contracts with governmental funders, foundations, and other stakeholders, including performance and outcomes management.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading large, diverse teams and mentoring team members.
  • Experience in family strengthening, parent education, and social service programs for children with disabilities and their families.
