Job Title: Elementary Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Elementary Teacher to join our team at Southside ISD. As an Elementary Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and social growth in our students.

Key Responsibilities:Instructional Strategies
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Use technology to enhance the teaching-learning process and promote student engagement.
  • Assess student learning styles and adjust instructional activities accordingly.
  • Work collaboratively with special education teachers to modify curricula for students with special needs.
  • Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aides and volunteers.
Student Growth and Development
  • Provide ongoing feedback on student achievement through formal and informal methods.
  • Be a positive role model for students and support the goals of the campus and school district.
  • Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
Classroom Management and Organization
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Communication
  • Be available by phone, email, or video conferencing to confer with district personnel, students, and/or parents.
  • Communicate with students or parents on a regular basis to ensure that weekly lessons and activity plans are effectively communicated and monitored.
  • Establish and maintain open lines of communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
Professional Growth and Development
  • Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and efficiently to complete time-sensitive matters, while also being a team player who can work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve common goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned, or valid Teaching Permit.
  • At least one year of student teaching or approved internship experience.
