Position: Lead Quality Assurance Technician

Grade: 90

Status: Full-time

Reports To: Quality Manager

Position Objective:

To deliver essential quality assurance and documentation support for Hendrickson in fulfilling client specifications for components and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide the Manufacturing Floor in identifying quality standards from technical drawings, published specifications, and establishing benchmarks where no product or ambiguous specifications exist.

• Employ Quality tools (Capabilities, Basic Statistics, Control Charts, and Sampling) to enhance Quality and modify inspection frequencies as necessary.

• Supervise Inspectors as required to conduct daily product assessments.

• Facilitate Root Cause analysis with designated Corrective Action personnel and ensure resolution of action items with follow-up on Corrective Actions.

• Engage with Clients regarding Quality Concerns.

• Submit RMR and RMA Corrective Action Responses and Sample Submissions as mandated by clients and suppliers.

• Spearhead systems to uphold TS 16949 compliance through auditing processes.

• Direct Suspect Product Containment Initiatives.

• Drive enhancements in plant PPM metrics through error-proofing and involvement in continuous improvement efforts.

• Assist SPPD launch initiatives by conducting print evaluations and project management under the guidance of the Quality Manager.

• Participate in CR and APQP meetings and fulfill action items as necessary.

• Initiate and track internal Change Order progress under the supervision of the Quality Manager.

• Conduct Measurement Systems Analysis on tooling and measurement systems under the direction of the Quality Manager.

• Manage MRB, Supplier PPAP, and Supplier Non-Conformances under the guidance of the Quality Manager.

• Comprehend the Quality Policy and review it with new employees during the orientation process.

• Some travel may be required (planned and in emergency situations).

• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Training:

• Associate's degree is mandatory.

• Commitment to complete Quality Training Courses and obtain Certifications as outlined in the attached Senior Quality Technician Training/Certification schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Over 7 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment.

• Experience with PPAP/Customer interactions in a Tier One automotive sector is essential.

• Familiarity with IATF 16949 auditing methodologies related to Quality Systems.

• Proficient in developing PPAPs, Control Plans, FMEAs, Flow Charts, Sampling, Basic Statistics, Blueprint Reading, GD&T, and Inspection Techniques, as well as Preventive and Corrective Actions.

• Experience with processes (machining, robotic and manual welding, steel forming, assembly) and products is required.

• Leadership experience in quality is preferred.

• Ability to independently audit Quality Systems/processes.

• Proficient in problem-solving using Ishikawa Diagrams, 8D, 5 Whys, statistical techniques, and quality hand measurement tools.

• Strong communication skills with both internal and external clients.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team/customer-focused environment.

• Willingness to work flexible schedules.
