Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Blood Collection Specialist to join our team at the Cleveland Clinic Health System. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, facilitating laboratory tests with precision and compassion.

About the Role

  • Collect blood samples from patients using phlebotomy techniques and maintain accurate records of specimens collected.
  • Verify order requests and identify patient information prior to drawing blood or collecting specimens.
  • Label and transport specimens to the appropriate processing area, ensuring timely delivery and minimal disruption to laboratory operations.
  • Perform specimen processing tasks, including accessioning, centrifugation, and packaging, to ensure accurate results.
  • Pick up and deliver lab supplies, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; formal phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in standard procedures, techniques, and common practices.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk frequently, and perform manual dexterity tasks with accuracy.

Estimated Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
