Job Summary

We are seeking an Environmental Support Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals. In this role, you will support the daily operations of the operating room by cleaning and disinfecting suites, transporting patients and equipment, and performing other duties as assigned.

As an Environmental Support Specialist, you will be responsible for facilitating the efficient turnover of operating rooms between cases and preparation for the following case. You will also transport patients, trays, blood gases, specimens, and equipment, as well as support operative teams with various requests while cases are in progress.

The ideal candidate will have a high school equivalent or GED and prior experience in OR cleaning/disinfecting. You must be able to lift and push heavy objects, have knowledge of safe and proper handling of hazardous waste, and possess CPR skills. Basic Life Support training is required, and Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician Certification is preferred.

This is a full-time position that requires standing frequently, walking frequently, and lifting 50 pounds. The salary for this position is estimated to be around $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
