Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse
Job Type: Contract/Travel
Location: Burlington, VT
- Deliver high-quality patient care by administering medications, wound care, and vital signs monitoring, under the guidance of RNs or physicians.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments involving physical exams, medical histories, and medication reviews to craft personalized care plans.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments with precision, ensuring accurate dosing and adherence to established protocols.
- Evaluate, clean, dress, and manage wounds while monitoring for infection or complications.
- Monitor and document patients' vital signs regularly, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Maintain precise patient records recording changes in their condition, administered treatments, and medication management.
- Educate patients and families on medical conditions, prescribed medications, and self-care practices.
- Administer and monitor IV medications and fluids ensuring proper insertion and functioning of IV lines.
- Provide care for patients with urinary catheters including insertion, routine maintenance, and monitoring for complications.
- Collect patient samples for laboratory testing and analysis.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Address patient comfort and safety requirements, including positioning and mobility assistance.
- Respond to medical emergencies adhering to established protocols and delivering basic life support as necessary.
- Adhere to infection control procedures and handle, store, and dispose of medications and medical supplies properly.
- Foster health and wellness by promoting preventive care measures and aiding with health assessments.
- Advocate for patients' rights within the healthcare system.
- Stay current on nursing best practices through ongoing education and training.
- Supervise CNAs or UAPs as needed to ensure high-quality patient care.
