Job Title: Right of Way Inspector

At Jacobs, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Right of Way Inspector to join our team in Centennial, CO. As a Right of Way Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state procedures, regulations, and standards related to public rights-of-way.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate utility pre-construction, construction, and maintenance projects within public rights-of-way.
  • Inspect and evaluate right-of-way work in progress to ensure repairs, maintenance, and project activities are performed in accordance with city standards and specifications.
  • Provide and update information for right-of-way permits in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Schedule and attend pre-construction meetings.
  • Respond to utility emergencies or other situations affecting the public rights-of-way.
  • Monitor work sites to ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Follow safety procedures and report unsafe activities and conditions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, codes, and regulations.
  • Effectively communicate with management, employees, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two years of experience working with public and/or private utilities.
  • Working knowledge of public-sector right-of-way regulations, construction plans, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to understand ROW regulations, construction material control, and job specifications.
  • Strong inter-personal relationship skills and verbal and written communications skills.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Design/Construction Management.
  • Two years of experience working with public and private utilities.
