Key Responsibilities- Patrol and Enforcement: Conduct regular patrols of our properties, including parks, trails, and facilities, to prevent and respond to incidents, enforce laws and regulations, and provide assistance to visitors.
- Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations of incidents, gather evidence, and interview witnesses and suspects to determine the facts and circumstances surrounding an incident.
- Community Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with the public, provide information and assistance, and promote a positive image of our organization.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and park staff to ensure a coordinated and effective response to incidents.
- Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest laws, procedures, and best practices in law enforcement.
- Education: Associate's degree or 60 credit hours in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certifications: MCOLES certification or the ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency with law enforcement software and equipment.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, and to perform physical tasks, such as lifting and carrying equipment.
