Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Security Officer to join our team at Hyatt Vacation Ownership. As a key member of our Loss Prevention team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests, owners, and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrol all areas of the property to prevent and detect potential security threats.
  • Assist guests and employees with room access and respond to emergency situations.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and fire life safety systems to ensure the safety of our community.
  • Conduct daily physical hazard inspections to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Respond to accidents and incidents, and complete incident reports to document all Loss Prevention related incidents.
  • Handle interruptions and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Escort unwelcome individuals from the property and report incidents to management.
  • Complete a Loss Prevention shift summary/daily activity report to ensure accurate documentation of all incidents.

Core Work Activities:

  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management and complete safety training and certifications.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, and assist individuals with disabilities.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues to achieve common goals.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a security or law enforcement role preferred.
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or for an entire work shift.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
