We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Strategic Alliance Director. This is a key leadership role that will involve leading multi-disciplinary matrix teams across GlaxoSmithKline and our alliance partner companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Provide strategic direction and guidance to collaboration teams, ensuring effective governance structures, decision-making processes, and milestone reporting.
  • Deal Negotiation and Management: Lead the negotiation and management of new deals, including contract execution, and provide key inputs during the term sheet phase.
  • Renegotiation and Termination: Responsible for renegotiation, spin-off, termination, reversion, and out-licensing of agreements.
  • Issue Identification and Resolution: Proactively identify issues, problems, and risks, and initiate solutions to resolve and escalate unresolved issues as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Strive for continuous improvement by sharing best practices and lessons learned with the Business Development Alliance Management team.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a life science or related discipline.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D and/or commercial, with experience working on collaborations or deal negotiations.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading interdisciplinary matrix teams and achieving team goals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Education: MBA or PhD.
  • Business Development Experience: Experience in business development is valuable.
  • Operational Knowledge: Operational knowledge of all phases of pharmaceutical development and commercialization processes.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Experience of compliance and/or risk management.
  • Influencing and Negotiation Skills: Influencing skills and negotiation experience.
  • Multi-Tasking and Complex Information Management: Ability to multi-task and assimilate complex information from diverse sources.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently.
