Job Title: Vice President, Business Development

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Business Development to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for identifying and evaluating potential acquisition targets to drive financial and operational growth for the Process & Industrial Products (PIP) Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with potential acquisition targets and evaluate their potential to drive growth for the PIP Group.
  • Monitor key macro-level trends and competitive landscapes for the Group's businesses and provide timely report outs to senior management.
  • Develop and execute action plans to engage acquisition candidates and convert them into closed transactions.
  • Partner with business leadership within the PIP Group to identify, evaluate, and prioritize new strategic growth platforms.
  • Research and screen potential growth markets that are strategic to achieving the company's long-term vision.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed and prioritized database of potential acquisition and partnership candidates for assessment by senior management.
  • Conduct periodic acquisition sessions with business units to widen the net of ideas and opportunities.
  • Maintain regular contact and develop relationships with owners/key executives at targets to improve AMETEK's position.
  • Expand and strengthen relationships with global Private Equity firms in our space to improve our position to secure deals when properties are divested.
  • Collaborate with management teams to build a business continuity plan.
  • Participate in intensive due diligence activities and lead key areas of diligence when assigned.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Physical Science with an MBA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in an industrial company including commercial roles with broad international market exposure.
  • Proven strategic planning experience and sales acumen with the ability to foresee and evaluate technology and market trends in the industrial space.
  • Proven ability to build effective internal and external relationships and be seen as a credible member of the business management team.
  • Strong executive leadership presence with the ability to influence across lines of authority.
